For thirty years, Michael Cunningham has served as a leader and executive in the IT Industry. He has managed large organizations and has routinely delivered large capital projects, nationally and internationally. Mike was responsible for designing and building office, manufacturing, and data center sites around the world for rapidly expanding companies. He oversaw the completion of state-of-the art data centers for The University of Texas and is a member of the Data Center Task Force, UT System. He was recognized as the International Data Center Manager of the Year in 2015.
Mike spent 18 years at IBM where he served as a Sr. Engineer and Manager and ten years at Dell where he held regional Director roles in Real Estate and Facilities. At the beginning of his career, he honed technology skills in the Systems Technology and Personal Computer Divisions. He was responsible for the design and build of printed circuit boards for IBM personal computers and laptops. His leadership in this area led to invention of new circuit board technology for what was then a fledgling laptop business. He is the Co-Inventor and holds multiple patents for Dell’s “systems and methods for manufacturing products according to customer orders”.
Mike hails from a small farming town in Missouri, which helps to explain some of his hands on, we can fix it approach to problems. He earned an Associate degree in management and a Bachelor degree with an emphasis in electrical technology and has completed graduate work in business. In his free time, you will likely find him, with family, out on the lake boating, wave running, kayaking, or just taking a dip in the cool waters.
